How Flash Changes the Storage Equation

Greetings,

Brandon Salmon, office of the CTO at Tintri, wrote an article for InfoWorld on how flash changes the storage equation from optimizing performance to optimizing capacity. In the article, he discusses cost per workload relative to IOPs and capacity.  What I found interesting was his point on the death of custom disk stripping, because flash smooths out performance differences.

So check-out Brandon’s article.

Measuring Storage Usage the Easy Way

Greetings,

I posted a blog entry on the Tintri cooperate blog.  This is a change in the corporate blog style to allow more technical blog posts.  Please feel free to comment.

The blog entry discusses how to collect statistics for chargeback and/or showback.  A new collection statistics code example posted on our Tintri GitHub site is discussed in the blog post as well.

So check it out.,

New Tintri Community

Greetings,

If you haven’t seen Tintri’s Community, please check it out. There is a survey I’m interested in, “Which programming language do you prefer?”.  Please take the time to answer it as it will assist us in determining which SDKs will be useful to develop.  There are other challenges to collect points as well like “Performance Webinars” to a “Are You Going to VMworld?”.

Regards,
